A wholly owned subsidiary of transcosmos inc., Shanghai transcosmos Marketing Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shanghai City, China, President, CEO, Chairman: Eijiro Yamashita, hereafter, transcosmos CC China), which is conducting call center business in China, has established its fourth call center location in Jiangsu Province, China. Wuxi transcosmos Interactive Services Co., Ltd. (hereafter, Wuxi Center), newly opened in Wuxi City, has been commissioned to provide support services to China’s largest EC company and began operations from June 12th.
 
Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province is an economically vital city in the southern part of Jiangsu Province located on the South East coast of China in the Yangtze Delta region, and is 128 kilometers from Shanghai City, where transcosmos CC China’s headquarters is located. Wuxi was chosen as the location for the new center because transportation is very convenient, taking about 1.5 hours by car and about 50 minutes by high-speed train from Shanghai, making its location well suited for supervision on top of having the government’s full support due to Wuxi local government’s track record of attracting many foreign companies.
 
At the Wuxi Center, transcosmos was commissioned to provide support services for China’s largest EC company and has already started its operations. It is providing inbound and outbound services that utilize phone, email, and chat mediums. Starting with 80 seats and 120 employees, it plans to expand to 120 seats and 180 employees by the end of 2009.
 
transcosmos CC China was establish in April of 2006 and presently has two locations in Shanghai and one location in Beijing with a total of 560 seats, providing services to customers in China with call center services conducted in Chinese. For internet direct marketing sales that targets the Chinese market, it provides a wide array of services such as customer support through phone, email and chat, as well as marketing-related operations.
 
Further, in recent years, Japanese language inquiry services have been provided through email and chat for off-shore functions directed to Japan. transcosmos will continue to provide services that will contribute to elevated levels of customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies for their clients in response to their expanding needs.
 
Wuxi Center aims to expand to 500 seats by 2012 with revenues of 500 million yen.

transcosmos strategic company for call center operations in China was started in April of 2006 as a joint venture company with a Microsoft affiliated company (at that time it was named Wecosmos, and this changed to its present name in June of 2008). Presently, it provides general contact center services such as technical support operations focused on personal computers, order-taking and inquiries for mail orders, and telemarketing operations in the China market. Furthermore, their clientele list includes about 40 companies from countries such as Japan, Europe, and China.
