transcosmos announces the start of its Global Call Center Service
 
 
- Providing one-stop service for the 10 main Asian languages
transcosmos supports all channels, from internet to personal contact, to connect businesses and consumers by providing IT outsourcing services. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO and CO: Masataka Okuda; Securities code: 9715). transcosmos inc., hereafter called transcosmos, will start its global call center service for client companies who have expanded into foreign markets by providing a one-stop service using the 10 main Asian languages.
 
transcosmos established an overseas base in the United States in 1989. Starting in 2001, transcosmos expanded into foreign markets in Asia providing call center and digital marketing services. Transcosmos invested a total of ¥450,000,000 in the call center service and developed local service for 10 cities in six countries. At this time, transcosmos is strategically placing executive officer and director-level management for the needs of client companies actively promoting business in Asian countries, and has constructed a framework that provides service in the 10 main Asian languages. Through transcosmos’ unified management of multiple bases, increased quality of service and business efficiency are realized by accumulating business know-how and knowledge.
 
The features of transcosmos’ Global Call Center Service are as follows:
- Covers the 10 main Asian languages with a minimal number of bases, thereby reducing management costs
Using its own Asian bases, transcosmos provides the optimal service based on the scale of business and language required by clients. By supporting multiple languages at each base, including the native language, fewer bases are required to cover low volume areas, thus achieving lower operating costs for client companies. This is especially important to those clients with multiple language needs.
 
- Achieves sharing of transnational management know-how and knowledge, as well as uniform service quality and information security
transcosmos realizes uniform call center service quality and a higher service level on a global scale by haring knowledge accumulated in each country in real time, and by sharing, analyzing and developing information. For information security, transcosmos transfers the know-how cultivated in Japan, and thoroughly implements security measures from both physical and educational standpoints.
 
- Reduces risk associated with consolidation and off-shoring with start-up and support by indigenous staff members.
This service uses local operation resources in each country. Staff members that truly understand the local culture and language implement the start up and support of service for local clients. This reduces the risk normally associated with the differences in culture and language when starting an offshore service.
In the case of very complicated businesses, the start-up of low-risk offshore and consolidated centers is realized by establishing milestones for the transfer of control off-shore and for setting up local backup operations after the local service has been started.
Goals for transcosmos include meeting client company needs by further expanding the service response languages, and continuing to reinforce the framework for providing one-stop Global Call Center services. Also, transcosmos will actively support global development as our client companies’ global IT partner through worldwide development of our outbound optimization service “MO3 (MO Cubed)”, which is already being provided in Japan, China, and Korea. The goal is to have the overseas call center service achieve 10% of total sales for all transcosmos operations and 30% of call center business sales by 2011.
